I first started using the TeamUnify system when we lived in Louisville, KY and my children swam for the Tritons. I loved the setup because the interface was easy to use, and there was a simple login process for parents. It was easy to sign my children up for meets, races, and Triton events, download meet packets, pay for meets/season, and follow the practice and social calendar.

On April 20th, 2017 we launched one of our biggest contests yet. We partnered up with SwimOutlet's Team Division to give away three $500 gift cards to three TeamUnify teams. Teams could get one entry if they got 65% of their families to download and log into OnDeck. They could also get multiple entries into the contest by getting families to put a payment type on file with their teams. They got one entry for their team for each percent increase starting on April 20th, 2017 and ending on June 30th, 2017.

The best way to put it is that the Flood Aquatics Swim Team crushed their USA Swimming Foundation Swim-A-Thon fundraising goals and it was their first time running it on the TUMoney system! Not only did they have to bump their initial goals up by $5,000, but they still exceeded it and went above the $15,000 mark. We are so proud of them in their team's efforts. They have 38 accounts and just under 60 athletes in the water. That means that each athlete on average collected over $275. That is huge for their team!
I am a part of this great group online, the Swim Coaches Idea Exchange, where coaches throughout the swim industry share ideas, stories, photos, articles and more. It is really great stuff.
Recently, a coach asked if any YMCA coaches had linked TU's online payment processing with their front desk facility management software, like DAXKO. More specifically, this coach wanted to be able to charge for meet fees using the TeamUnify system and wanted to know how other YMCAs have done it. I joined in on the conversation and want to share what I learned.

Before we started using TeamUnify all our processes, membership, meet entries, coaches records, swimmer attendance and club communication were managed using a variety of different systems, none of which were integrated in anyway. No one process was joined up, which meant a huge amount of duplication, which was very labour intensive and prone to error.

Before TeamUnify, our website was based on Joomla CMS and we had customised it to fit our needs as a swimming club — building our own database of swimmer times, and using attendance registers coded by a volunteer parent. The Joomla system was providing our membership database, and we were accessing that in a myriad of ways. It was quite advanced, but cumbersome and taking a lot of time to maintain; our registration system was unable to handle the increased number of swimmers in our squads.
We were looking for a way to handle online entry to galas, like all clubs desperate to find a better way of handling paper entries, but that was beyond our skill set.
